Open-Xchange is an open source mail- and groupware package, developed by the German company Netline Internet Service. In 2001, the Open-Xchange developers teamed up with SUSE Linux - today a Novell business. The result of this partnership, SUSE Linux Open-Xchange Server, became the best selling Linux-based groupware solution. However Novell decided to continue only with NetMail and Groupwise and returned OX server to Netline under the condition that OX would continue as open source software.
Netline changed its name to Open-Xchange Inc. and is now headquartered in Nuremberg, Germany with offices in Olpe, Germany and Tarrytown, N.Y., USA. To-date, more than 3,500 companies in 65 countries run Open-Xchange solutions.
